The European seminar for researchers, politicians, activists and practioners focused on recent research and theories linked to Alternative Economic theories, discussed recent evolutions and trends, successes and failures and confronted relevant experiences. Case studies and innovative models such as Ethical finance, Social economy enterprises for the management of common goods, the workers' take-overs and new economic citizen participation, and social enterprises to combat organised crime were analysed for a better understanding of their impact on social transformation. By bringing together different stakeholders, possible actions to create stronger political alliances for a larger dissemination of such experiences to enhance social impact and transformation were reflected.
